Job Description:
PCB Design Engineer
The PCB Design Engineer will be working on the PCB layout
of high power DC motor drives, Design of Motor Drives and
Power Supplies.
A background in PCB Design/Layout, preferably within Automotive
or Power, with a knowledge of CadStar or equivalent.
Based in Hampshire this role is with an exciting company
with a brand new product range with a focus on Power and Automotive.
The PCB Design Engineer will be working on the PCB layout
of high power DC motor drives, Design of Motor Drives and
Power Supplies (all conforming to automotive reliability and
EMC standards).
The successful candidate will have a good background in PCB
Design/Layout, preferably within Automotive or Power, with
a knowledge of CadStar or equivalent.
A knowledge of DFM or High volume manufacturing is beneficial.

Description:
We have an immediate need for a PCB Design Engineer with direct
experience in Microprocessor Platform Design. This is a contract
position with one of the world's premier semiconductor companies.
The focus of this role is to support upcoming PCB design(s)
and test activities required to enable new CPU products. This
role will primarily assist the HST development team to free
up resource for L1 DDR3 development. Tasks would include reviewing
design rules and schematics/layout, and perform functional
and electrical checks to verify circuits (check timing, tolerances,
voltage levels, functionality, etc.).
Requirements:
* Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Science, or equivalent.
Familiar with schematics and layout - Mentor would be good,
but not required
Understanding of digital circuits including the use of more
complicated ICs used with interfaces such as I2C, LPC, and
SPI
General understanding of PC system architecture including
Memory, CPU, Chipset, and graphic devices
Familiarity with high speed digital design practices such
as high speed parallel buses (eg DDR2) and differential signaling
(eg SATA, Ethernet, etc.)
Understanding the general use of Oscilloscopes and Logic
Analyzers for verification and debug of system design
Ability to execute test plans and verify results
