There is more to circuit design than a good theoretical foundation coupled with a considerable amount of laboratory experience. While recognizing that theoretical knowledge is essential, Dr. O'Dell discusses the practical element of electronic circuit design with emphasis on learning by doing. Where do new circuit ideas come from? This is the topic of the first eight chapters, which deal with high and low frequency small signal circuits, opto-electronic circuits, digital circuits, oscillators, translinear circuits, and power amplifiers. In each chapter, one or more experimental circuits are described in detail for the reader to construct: a total of thirteen project exercises in all. The final chapter draws some conclusions about the fundamental problem of design in light of the circuits that have been dealt with in the book. THE ROLE:
*As a Senior Engineer, you will have responsibility for all technical aspects of the project, interfacing with the customer and mentoring other engineers.

REQUIREMENTS:
* An honours degree or post-graduate qualification in Electronic Engineering.
*At least 6 years experience in CMOS analogue circuit design.
*Expertise in the design of some of the following: PLLs and Oscillators, high-speed A/D converters, DACs and filters (switched-capacitor, continuous-time).
*Expertise in some of these areas: Analogue/digitall partitioning in mixed-signal systems; High-speed data communications; Modeling of analogue systems.
*Expertise in complete IC design flows, from requirements to evaluation.
*Experience with RF blocks: LNA / RX & TX Mixer / PA Driver / RF Power Detector an asset. RF experience (Knowledge of NF, IIP3, Smith Charts LNA and Mixer topologies) an asset.
*A track record of successful project completion.
*Technical curiosity and a good understanding of the latest developments in the industry and of leading-edge design techniques.
*An ability to incorporate business influences in engineering decisions.
*Good problem solving skills.
*Strong analytical skills.
*Strong oral and written communication skills.
*Strong time management skills.
*Short-term travel will be occasionally required.
